Eagle Terrace

Sure it dates back to 1980, is of frame construction and clad with cedar siding, but this building holds seven surprisingly roomy and well-appointed condo apartment homes on a 50-foot-wide lot. Built as a condominium and registered in 1981, there are four suites of 710 to 743 square feet and three that measure 904 square feet. All are two-bedroom layouts with a single bathroom and most have been upgraded over the years by their owners.

Every suite here has a wood-burning fireplace and a large balcony or patio, one of them dug into the Fifth Street hillside, which is either clausterphobic or cozy and private, depending on your point of view. With only two suites per floor (one on the main) every suite faces either front or back and has windows in three directions. All suites seem to have in-suite laundyr. Parking is assigned stalls around back with several of them tucked under the building's overhang. The building is a walk-up with no basement, but with some common area on the ground floor at the back for utilities and access to the parking.

Unit factors are allocated to suites in proportion to their floor areas. Exterior windows and doors are common property for maintenance and eventual replacement. I keep the Condo Plan on file.
