Nineteen-twenty-one Fifth Street

If there's a name for this large four-plex condominium building, let me know, won't you?

I marvel that in 2003 the converting developer couldn't easily sell the four spacious suites in this good-looking building that was built in 1989. The renovations looked terrific, and suites range up to 1,150 square feet, each with a wood-burning fireplace and parking under a then-new steel and concrete carport.

The building is frame and walk-up. It's vinyl clad and otherwise also modern. I regret that I didn't pick up one of these when listings expired one after the other after conversion, because they've shot up in value. With only four homes, this will be a self-managed condominium requiring a strong personality or two among owners to make sure maintenance is done and a reserve fund is saved up. 'Nice looking place!
