Completed in 2009, this luxury-class four-storey-plus-lofts 33-suite condo building now enjoys one of the nicest tree-lined streets adjacent to 17th Avenue and the Red Mile. Tweed is of concrete construction with a brick facade and wrought-iron highlights to make the building fit into the neighbourhood and to reflect the brick of Canada Western High School across the street, which is being restored.

The design offers large windows and a stepped-back top floor where six larger suites each have a loft and a second balcony. The building offers two elevators, gas outlets on balconies/patios, and indoor parking for all suites plus a couple of extras so that two suites have double parking, and of course there's some indoor visitor parking. Suites range from a one-bedroom home of 649 square feet--'just one that small--to penthouses of up to 1,441 square feet. All suites are large, with two-bedroom suites in the 1,200-square-foot range.

Interior finishes include nine-foot ceilings, granite counters with under-mounted sinks, hardwood flooring, tiled bathrooms floors with separate baths and showers, roll-down window blinds, and all appliances including front-load washer and on-top dryer. Even the spacious one-bedroom homes have 1.5 bathrooms.

Tweed's exterior windows and doors are common property for maintenance and eventual replacement. Unit factors were allocated to suites in proportion to their sizes. I have on file all floor plans and the Condominium Plan.
