Wright House

This was among Calgary's cutest conversions when in 1998 a Calgarian turned the historic house--originally a duplex--into six condo suites. The plaque below tells the history, so I'll tell today's story.

Suites range from 744 square feet to 968 square feet for one of two third-floor suites, which has a small in-the-attic loft with sloping ceilings--watch your head! The building is frame, of course, and parking is outside 'round back. The huge basement is common property for lots of storage, but only has a 7-foot ceiling, so again, watch your head! The south-facing front porch is common property, so all residents can sit outside and feel like they live in a house...which it was. With only six homes this building will be self-managed and if you live here you'll likely take your turn cutting the lawn or some years doing a little painting. 'Not so bad!

Exterior windows and doors at Wright House are common property for maintenance and eventual replacement. I have the Condo Plan on file.
