Tower one is was completed late in 2010 in the first phase--two buildings plus a podium--of Waterfront Condos, a multi-phase mixed-use development by Anthem Properties that will eventually contain 1,000 homes just east of Eau Claire Market. This site--already on prime land along the river and the pathway system--will be bolstered as more office towers are completed nearby and as the Eau Claire Market is also redeveloped to include a major grocery store and new amenities.
Building heights are restricted by the city to prevent shadowing of the river and its pathways, so the towers will be taller at the south end, and step down approaching the Bow River. Although large apartment homes are available at Waterfront, this project features smaller and thus more affordable homes that are very well laid out and still come with an indoor parking stall and an out-of-suite storage locker. Interior finishing is sophisticated, reflecting Anthem's experience in the condo marketplace. This is a large Vancouver-based company with a portfolio of condominium residential, commercial, and office-building projects behind it.
Tower one (westerly building) is 23 storeys tall with 177 suites, and tower two (easterly building) is shorter with 133 suites, while the podium between them houses139 smaller suites. One-bedroom suites range from 505 to 678 square feet, and those with a flex space or den area go up to 925 square feet. Two-bedroom suites range from 925 to 1,054 square feet. Space in these suites is well planned with storage added everywhere possible, from six-inch deep spaces in the kitchen becoming spice cabinets to a built-in bed housing drawers beneath the mattress platform. A more spacious feel also stems from the full-height windows up to the 8' 8" ceilings.
Waterfront will have extensive in-house amenities including lobby staffing, rentable business-centre space, a gym, saunas, a hot tub, a billiards/games room, and a mini movie theatre, all of which will total more than 6,000 square feet.
Exterior windows and doors at Waterfront will all be common property for maintenance and eventual replacement....50 or 100 years down the road! Condo Plans for phases will be registered upon their completion, with the entire Waterfront development operating as one condominium corporation. I have on file all sales literature and floor plans.
