Brownstones of Erlton (not "Earlton")

These townhouses aren't a condominium, but rather townhouse-style single-family homes, each on their own lot, with party-wall agreements between the homes that are attached.

That means there are no condo fees, of course, but it also means that each homeowner must maintain their own exterior. The 13 homes were developed in 1998 in duplex sets and one larger grouping by High End Homes; and high end they are. These buildings are mostly wider than the already-nice River Run Townhomes across the street, and have some extra columns, arched windows and copper highlights, all set over double drive-under garages. They back directly onto the Elbow River, with the six north-end homes having room for even longer back yards, looking across the south end of Lindsay Park to the river. Like others along this stretch of the river, these homes have the surprising history of slow sales in early years. Even in 2004 the most exclusive of these sat unsold for half a year.
