Inglewood Corners townhouses

This is a larger townhouse development than Aviara just to the north on the other side of an old firehall that today is a duplex home. The Corners' 35 or so homes were built in nine phases in 2002. They're larger homes, too, with the more traditional two-storey design plus a full basement for each home, and including a drive-under garage. With about 2,000 square feet each, less the garage, homes here are 1,300 or 1,500 square feet, including basements.

The location is away from the noise and fumes of Blackfoot Trail and backs on to Inglewood Wildlands Park, so if you can put up with some noise from aircraft coming or going to Calgary International, it's a quiet nook of the city near the Bow River and its pathways, yet close to downtown.

Today's Communities Inc. developed the land as a multi-stage bare-land subdivision and then re-divided each lot into conventional condos, but the entire project operates as one corporation with homes on the east and west sides of a common-property driveway. Homes on the east side look across Seventeenth Street to an almost 1940's string of original homes, while the east-side homes look onto the Wildland Park; 'nice!

Exterior windows and doors are common property for maintenance and eventual replacement. I keep on file the bare-land Condo Plan and some of the phased construction Condo Plans.
