Legacy
This is an attractive six-storey building with indoor parking completed in 2001 across from the St. Mary's High School playing fields, and just west of the south-bound leg of Macleod Trail (First Street East). The Elbow River and Lindsay Park recreation centre are only meters away. Although you'd think the location is within Victoria Crossing, it's the eastern edge of Mission neighbourhood.
Construction is concrete for the 69-stall parkade and the 10 first-floor commercial units, then frame with light concrete overlay for the residential portion of 46 suites above. All parking stalls are titled property and all suites have a basement storage locker that they own as part of the suite titles. Features include in-floor heating, gas fireplaces, standard nine-foot ceilings, top-floor suites that are dramatic two-storey 20-foot-ceiling lofts, and some second-floor suites that have large patios atop the at-grade commercial space. At the east end these are adjacent to Macleod Trail, so there's exposure to traffic. With 69 parking spots for 46 mixed-use condo units, there are 23 extra stalls, so some suites own a second stall, and some are reserved for indoor visitor parking, which is a nice feature for winter time.
The secured front door gives access to the ground-floor commercial condo spaces, with a glass enclosure in the lobby securing access to the elevator to the residential floors; 'good system. The keys here are convenient in that each suite key also opens the parkade, the front door and the lobby's elevator enclosure.
European-style numbering is used at Legacy, so a first-floor suite is on the second level, and a second-floor suite is on the third, etc., which likely stems from the ground floor being entirely commercial. Exterior windows and doors are common property for maintenance and eventual replacement by the corporation of owners. I have on file the building's original marketing materials and floor plans.
