Madison of Mission

Here's a little 12-suite gem hidden behind foliage on Ninteenth Avenue just off Fourth Street SW. The Madison is a concrete-built four-storey no-basement walk-up building, with the first floor being entirely lobby and utility space, plus parking tucked under most of the building, so half of the assigned stalls are covered.

Built in 1979, the condo plan dates from 1981, but I believe it was run as a rental building for a decade under the name Mission Mews. Some time in the 1990s suites were upgraded and sold off, and it's since settled into what looks like a well-run and solid small building. Suites are all one-bedroom homes of 506 to 656 square feet. Sometimes simple is good.
