Metropolitan

There are 20 small suites in this three-storey walk-up frame building that dates from 1957, but which enjoyed a thorough and even stylish renovation in 2003 by the Red Trout people. I guess if you can't create balconies or make the parking indoors, at least you can renovate with hardwood floors, maple cabinetry and stainless-steel appliances and open up the floor plans. Well, that was done, and they look good too. Young people living here likely don't spend much time on balconies anyway, since restaurants and bars with sidewalk service are on Fourth Street, only steps away.

Parking is all around back, surface assigned stalls. The front yard is cute, and like other nearby buildings done by Red Trout the front face has some nice slate highlight areas that likely replaced old stucco. All new vinyl windows and doors complete the package. Exterior windows and doors at Metropolitain are common property for maintenance and eventual replacement, although as they were new in 2003, that will be a long time coming.
