Platinum
This concrete-built 1966 four-storey walk-up building houses 16 one-bedroom suites condo converted with high-end renovations in 2003-4 by Metropolitan Developments. The "platinum" name likely derives from the stainless-steel highlights and modern dark cabinets and stylish vessel sinks installed in all suites.
All but two suites are 592 square feet, while the two smaller ones are 484 square feet. Virtually every suite has a balcony or a dug-out patio, which really brightens those half-below-grade suites. The building received all new windows and doors, with the balcony/patio doors being French-style for added pizzazz. All suites had galley-kitchen walls removed and high-end cabinetry and appliances installed, plus received all-in-one laundry machines. Sure the suites are small, but it's surprising how much room you have with an open design with no hallways.
Parking is all 'round back surface common-property assigned stalls. The building is mechanically simple, so condo fees should always be reasonable here....'no elevator to run, fix or save up to replace some day. Combine the concrete building with the quality of renovations, and those who bought here in 2004 bought well. Exterior windows and doors at Platinum are common property for maintenance and eventual replacement, although that's decades off, as they were new in 2004. I have the Condo Plan on file.
