Completed in 2003, this high-end two-building 47-suite two and three-storey development was another project by Calgary's prolific Streetside Development Corporation. Targeted to mature buyers and perhaps empty-nesters, the building has sedate presentation with dark stucco and river-rock highlights, while inside most suites have two indoor titled parking stalls and all have a titled basement storage locker. There's also indoor guest parking and courtyard parking for quick stops and deliveries. The location is hidden behind West Market Square, known for its luxury-class Sunterra Market, pleasant pub with a city view and a variety of classy shops.
Suites at Milestone are either roomy or downright large, with only a handful of one-bedroom suites, and those are the only ones that have a single parking spot. Most are two bedroom or two-bedroom-plus-den layouts ranging up to 1,354 square feet, and all these have two indoor parking spots. Numerous suites have downtown views over top of Sarcee Trail. Every suite has a natural-gas fireplace and a gas supply for the balcony or patio, nine-foot ceilings, glass-panel balcony railings, a breakfast bar, microwave/hoodfan combo and in-suite laundry. The building's amenities are the pleasant two lobbies, a meeting room and a car-wash bay in the garage. Many of the suite layouts have angled walls, getting away from the boxy apartment look. Construction is structural frame with overlay and thick exterior walls.
Unit factors are allocated to suites based on their floor area, then two each for titled parking stalls and one each for titled lockers, so that's all fair. Exterior windows and doors are common property for maintenance and future replacement. I have on file all original sales literature and most original floor plans for both phases.
