Condo Directory Outer Communities South west, south of Glenmore Trail Village Green

315 Heritage Drive, SE, Acadia

Village Green

Six concrete buildings with a total 115 homes were poured into place here as a rental development in 1968 and condo converted in 1975, which is long ago enough that the Condo Plan is in Imperial measurements. The project was built by Daon Developments, which has since gone on to billion-dollar office tower developments across western Canada.

There are 102 apartment-style homes in four concrete three-storey walkups with each suite featuring light from both front and back, as every four suites is served by stairwells, eliminating the need for hallways, so these are bright homes. The fifth southerly building is a row of 13 townhouses, which also all have light from front and back. The four apartment buildings enclose a pleasant courtyard garden with a picnic area where a chocolate piano once made an appearance!

Most apartment homes are two-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom suites with a spacious 900 or more square feet. The minority of suites are one-bedroom layouts of 753 square feet, but even these have windows both front and back. The 13 townhouses each offer two above-grade levels of 638 square feet per floor, plus the basement for a total 1,914 square feet of interior space. Parking is all outdoor assigned stalls on common property.

Exterior windows and patio slider doors at Village Green are each suite owner's responsibility to maintain and replace, if that is ever necessary. I have the Condo Plan on file.
